from 791 reviewsI do not frequently use a curling iron, rare actually, so lesson learned to wear sleeves when using one. My lack of experience resulted in a burn on my shoulder. It blistered, and I did not take note to care for it properly until I felt it be popped/opened later that morning. I knew I was in trouble for a scar since the blister opened. I had experienced a popped burn blister years ago and used Mederma, but that did nothing for it. I researched, found Scar Smart, and took a chance. I tried their Scar Smart sheets too, but I found their gel more practical for where the popped blister was located since I carry bags on my shoulders daily and that was not conducive for the sheets. I waited till the popped burn blister was dry, then I followed the directions every day from May 4th (the first picture) until beginning of August. I also kept the scar covered or under sunscreen when I was outside. I am so happy with the results! I reduced to using the gel once a day, every other day, in August, but I'm going to start back up 2 times a day to see if it can go lighter even more. I highly, highly recommend this product. And to wear sleeves when using a curling iron!
This scar smart silicone scar gel is clinically tested. It is the same item that my daughters hand therapist used to help break up the scar tissue after her hand surgery. This works to lessen the appearance of scars.
This scar gel is fairly effective at reducing the size and color in new scars. I recently had surgery on my knee and was left with a sizeable scar to contend with.
I prefer this gel to the strips because the strips lose adhesion easily whereas this can be used under a bandage or on its own effectively.
It is a thick, white gel that applies smoothly and is recommended to leave on for up to 12 hours. I put it on before bed and found after several weeks it did decrease the size and sight of the scar. It also made the incision scar much softer and malleable.
Overall I recommend this product.
My teen daughter has several large scars on her elbow from surgery and it really bothered her. She started using this 2 weeks ago along with the silicon sheets made by the same company, making sure they are covered up completely. She alternates between the gel and the sheets.
She told me that by using it 24/7, her scars are getting softer and it seems to be having some effect! They are not going away but with massages and this product, there might be possible to reduce the bumps. This is very promising and she will keep using it along with their silicon sheet product.
I have some surgical incisions from last year that have formed keloids. This is typical of my skin, I was expecting it, but my surgeon said, no that's not going to happen. When somebody knows their skin, why say that. This gel is not the first product I've used on these scars, but this is the one that seems to be making a difference for me. This gel has made the discoloration lighter, and flattened out the keloid a bit. This is something that will need to be used for a while, but if I can remember to apply it at least three times a day, it's making a difference. The keloid is also less itchy, which is a plus.
So far I am loving this scar smart silicone scar treatment. It arrived quickly and well packaged. It has no discernible odor. The consistency is a thick gel like material and you apply it to your scar several times a day and overtime the scar is supposed to lighten and become less noticeable. So far it’s doing great I’ve only been using it about a week and I can see that my scar on my arm is a little bit lighter than it was a week ago. I have had no negative reactions and so far it’s working great!
I've been having a lot of success using the silicone sheets, so I thought I would try this silicone scar gel. I got attacked by a dog a couple of years ago and have several scars on my face. Some are over and right under my eyebrow, about an inch below my eye, and several in different places on my cheek. It takes me a while to massage it into each one, and sometimes I forget to even use it, but I can still already see a bit of a difference. It's really starting to soften the skin in and around the scars, which gives me hope that, overtime, they will be less and less noticeable, or even gone completely. I love the scar sheets, but this definitely has a place in my medicine cabinet, as well. I definitely recommend it.
this is my first scar gel that i've tried and so far i'm happy with it. it does take a long time seemingly for results. for me, i have a huge abdominal scar from multiple cancer related surgeries and this scar gel somewhat boosts my confidence level about my body and where the scar is located at. im hoping for full on results in just a few months but for now i'm enjoying the journey with this gel
After multiple surgeries I've tried a number of different scar rejuvenation gels, pads, creams, etc. Thus far this one has no scent to speak of (which I like), doesn't itch, smooths the scar and surrounding area, makes the skin softer, and easy to use. Normally silicone based products and adhesives cause a skin reaction for me. Again, thus far all good. I can recommend this item.
I have a lot of scars from an ATV accident a few years ago, so I thought I'd give this a try. The instructions say it takes three to six months for old scars, so it will be a while before I know.
It's very slippery and takes a while to massage in.
It does not wash out of clothes too well, so be careful.
I’ve been using this cream on a surgical scar for three weeks. It seems to be helping break down the scar tissue causing the scar to lay more flat. The texture is smoother as well. The cream goes on easily and a dries clear without any stickiness.
I'm a pretty avid sawmiller and construction hobbyist, so scars are pretty much the defining feature of my arms and legs. However, a week ago a pointy spruce branch challenged my calf to a duel and won handily, leaving a 2" gash on one of my last unscarred acres of flesh. My friend had been to his dermatologist and was recommended this scar gel, along with the accompanying scar sheets, so I figured I'd bite.
Full disclaimer, I long ago lost faith in skin care products when I decided it was all pseudoscience and snake oil. But on the plus side, I can write an honest review. I got these in the mail, cleaned the wound again, and applied the scar gel and the healing sheet. I followed the directions over the course of a week, noticing when I removed the scar sheet that the wound was staying soft and the healing process seemed to be in the express lane. This process was much more comfortable than a dry, cracking scab, wasn't itchy at all, and prevented my tendency to pick away at a scab.
8 weeks later I removed the bandage and the scar was gone. Like, totally and utterly traceless. Next review I'll do a before-and-after pic — it's like the cut never happened. I guess it's a bit late to prevent the rest of my scars, but I've ordered three more packs and can at least prevent scars in the future. I can't recommend this stuff enough.
I've been using this on my daughter on a scratch scar, and it's a wonderfully effective treatment. Though a little bit busier than other products to apply, I love the results and the skin care it provides. Definitely one of the better treatments we have tried.
